Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) is the closest airport, located about 35–40 miles east of Prospect House. The drive from the airport to Prospect House takes roughly 45 minutes, depending on traffic.

We recommend renting a car, as Dripping Springs is a rural area where rideshare service is limited and unreliable. All major rental companies are available on-site at AUS, and we have arranged for discounted rates from Budget and Avis as a courtesy to our guests.

Where should I stay while I’m visiting town?

We’ve included a few hotels below that we think are pretty cool and/or convenient for a weekend stay. They come at a range of price points—Austin is a popular place to visit in October. If you would prefer to stay at an Airbnb or other short term rental, we recommend looking at neighborhoods in central and south Austin
